(via Burning Man ticket fiasco creates an uncertain future)
Is it the end of Burning Man as we know it? That’s certainly the way things are looking to thousands of longtime burners who didn’t get tickets when the results of a controversial new ticket lottery system were announced on Tuesday evening, particularly as big picture information emerged in online discussions yesterday.

  10. “It’s hard to imagine that there are really 400,000 people wanting to go to BM this year… or even 100,000, which would be more in line with the 35% numbers I’ve been seeing. Regardless, it seems likely that the world will soon be swimming in BM tix. The result will be that most people who really want a ticket will eventually get one, but the key word here is “eventually.” How does a theme camp or an art crew plan when the STEP system doesn’t start until the end of February, and the final 10,000 tickets aren’t available until the end of March? My fear is that many camps and installations will be downsized or eliminated due to uncertainty. And what about people who need to book international travel, or rent RVs? Yes, there will be 56,000 people on the playa this year, but my fear that they’ll be much less in the way of contribution. It’s a shame, because I don’t see that anything at all was gained.”

    Well said Wendi…

  11. Amazing Ice Cubes “Today was a good day ” day was found!

So someone did the research and pinpointed the exact “good day” that Ice Cube wrote his song about. This is pretty awesome.

    CLUE 1:
    “went to short dogs house,
    they was watching Yo MTV
    RAPS”
    Yo MTV RAPS first aired:
    Aug 6th 1988
    CLUE 2:
Ice Cubes single “today was a good day” released on:
    Feb 23 1993
    CLUE 3:
    ”The Lakers beat the Super
    Sonics”
Dates between Yo MTV Raps air date AUGUST 6 1988 and the release of the single FEBRUARY 23 1993 where the Lakers beat the Super Sonics:
    Nov 11 1988 114-103
    Nov 30 1988 110-106
    Apr 4 1989 115-97
    Apr 23 1989 121-117
    Jan 17 1990 100-90
    Feb 28 1990 112-107

    Jan 20 1992
    CLUE 6:
Ice Cube starred in the film “Boyz in the hood” that released late Summer of 1991, but was being filmed mid-late 1990 early 1991 and Ice Cube was busy on set filming the movie Jan 18 1991 too busy to be lounging around the streets with no plans. Ladies and Gentlemen..

    The ONLY day where:
